π₯ WILDFIRES: Firefighters are battling 79 large wildfires nationwide, with more than 22,000 personnel on the lines. Locally, the Big Grass Fire has burned more than 575,000 acres and is now 93% contained. The North Heglar Fire is 73% contained, while the Shale Butte Fire north of Kimama has burned about 1,500 acres. Crews hope to contain both fires today.
π TWIN FALLS MAN DIES DURING OREGON POLICE RESPONSE: Authorities in Ontario are investigating after 46-year-old Mark Alan Olson of Twin Falls died Saturday night following a police response. Officials say Olson experienced medical issues after officers used pepper balls and a Taser. Four officers have been placed on leave.
π« SCHOOL HEALTH INSURANCE: The Idaho School Benefit Trust says it needs another $13 million from participating schools to cover health insurance claims after reserves were depleted by extremely high costs.
