π¨ HIGH WINDS CUT CONCERT SHORT
High winds brought Jo Dee Messinaβs concert at the Twin Falls County Fair to an early end Sunday night. Fair officials stopped the show for safety as strong winds moved through the area. Messina later thanked fans, calling them an βincredible crowd.β π€β€οΈ
π HANSEN BRIDGE REOPENS
The Hansen Bridge is back open after law enforcement activity temporarily closed the bridge and part of Highway 50 Monday evening.
π₯ STATE SHED FIRE CONTAINED
A 42-acre wildfire near Declo is now contained after a semi hauling straw caught fire. Crews reached containment around 1:30 this morning. π
π 8 ESCAPE TWIN FALLS HOUSE FIRE
Eight people escaped safely from a house fire on Sidney Street in Twin Falls Friday. No injuries were reported, and the cause remains under investigation.
βοΈ LOW-FLYING AIRCRAFT EXPECTED
You may notice low-flying aircraft around Twin Falls and neighboring counties starting this week. The BLM is treating more than 27,000 acres to reduce invasive grasses and wildfire risk.
π€ SHOSHONE FALLS BOAT LAUNCH CLOSED
Mid-Snake River access remains open during quagga mussel treatment, but the Shoshone Falls boat launch is closed through September 13. Officials are also recommending people avoid the river between Hansen Bridge and Highway 46 through September 16.

βοΈ ABORTION INITIATIVE WORDING ORDERED CHANGED
The Idaho Supreme Court says the wording voters would see for November's Proposition One needs to be rewritten. Justices unanimously ruled the explanations for a βyesβ or βnoβ vote were not clear or accurate enough under state law.
π MOUNTAIN HOME SHOOTING
One person is recovering after being shot Saturday night in Mountain Home. The injuries are not life-threatening. Investigators have identified a suspect and say there is no continuing threat to the public.
π‘οΈ DEADLY BOISE STABBING
Boise Police are investigating a deadly stabbing at a large house party early Labor Day morning. A man was found on a front porch with a stab wound and later died.
πΊπΈ IDAHO NATIONAL GUARD MISSION CONTINUES
The ACLU of Idaho is calling on Governor Brad Little to bring Idaho National Guard members home from Washington, D.C. State leaders say the mission will continue. 24 Idaho Guard members remained in the nation's capital last week.
π« TWO NEW IDAHO SCHOOLS UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Two new elementary schools are being built without local bond money or property-tax increases. Freedom Elementary in Middleton and a new Lake Hazel Elementary in West Ada are being funded largely through state money.

πΎ Hansen football has a new leader. Head coach Toby Lapp has stepped down for personal reasons after leading the Huskies to a 7-2 record and playoff appearance last season. Coach Stimpson will serve as interim head coach.

For the girls, Burley visits Minico at 4, Wood River hosts Canyon Ridge at 6, and Twin Falls travels to Jerome for a 7 p.m. matchup between two teams sitting at 4-1-1.
π΅ BOISE STATE FOOTBALL
The Broncos return to The Blue Saturday at 4 p.m. for their home opener against Memphis. Expect the Bronco Walk, Ford Fan Zone, Blue Thunder Marching Band and new gameday traditions. ππ΅
π― IDAHO STATE FOOTBALL
The Bengals scored one of their biggest wins in years, beating Utah State 29-17 in Logan. It's Idaho State's first FBS win since 2017. The defense picked off four passes while Mason Lindberg kicked five field goals.
β³ Boise State men's golf finished 11th at the Resort Island Classic in Michigan. Trevor Garus tied for seventh with a career-best 209.
β½ CSI men's soccer opened the season with a 5-1 win over Truckee Meadows. Edward Hill scored twice. The Golden Eagles host North Idaho Thursday at 3 p.m.
π Seventh-ranked CSI volleyball stayed unbeaten at home, sweeping Western Nebraska to finish a perfect 3-0 weekend.
β½ CSI women's soccer opened conference play with a 2-1 win over Truckee Meadows. Annie Layton scored both goals.
π Idaho State's Aspen Boice was named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week after recording 59 digs.
β½ Idaho State women's soccer dropped a 6-0 decision to SMU and now stands at 2-3-2. The Bengals return home Thursday against UC Santa Barbara.
