Amber Alert Resolved: 12-year-old Tatiana Fuentes, reported missing from Idaho Falls, was found safe in Colorado. She is unharmed, and the Amber Alert has been canceled.
Fatal Crash Near Malta: A 57-year-old man from Florida died in a rollover on I-84. The semi overcorrected, blocking both westbound lanes for 4 hours. A passenger was injured and hospitalized.
Paraglider Rescue: Twin Falls Fire crews rappelled 70 feet into the Snake River Canyon to save a paraglider who crashed below Bridgeview Blvd. He was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.

Water & Resources

Canal Water Shortage: The Twin Falls Canal Company may face a 75,000-acre-foot water deficit this irrigation season. Junior water users out of compliance with the 2024 agreement risk curtailment if they don’t act by July 25.
Geothermal Lease Sale: The BLM will host an online geothermal auction Sept. 9, offering 24,000+ acres in Elmore, Washington, and Bonneville counties. Funds go to local infrastructure and renewable energy.

Economy & Budget

State Surplus: Idaho closed the fiscal year with a $345 million surplus. Governor Little credits conservative budgeting and economic growth. Fitch reaffirmed the state’s AAA credit rating.

Firefighter Memorial Support: Twin Falls Firefighters Jacob McBride, Nick Arregui, and Captain Brandon Reed are in Coeur d’Alene covering shifts to allow crews to attend memorials for Battalion Chiefs John Morrison and Frank Harwood.

Art & Soul Awards: The Magic Valley Arts Council awarded $41,000+ to 91 artists. Cassidy Sines of Meridian won the $12,000 grand prize for her acrylic work Luminous Path.

Legion AA: The Twin Falls Cowboys (17–12) lost the Mid-Summer Classic semifinal to the NW Star Mavericks (6–4), but beat Rose City Baseball (11–2) and Premier Baseball (9–3). Next game: vs. Pocatello, Tuesday @ 5 p.m.
Legion A: Twin Falls Hawks split a doubleheader with Burley—won Game 1 (7–3), lost Game 2 (10–0). Burley enters postseason at 27–5, Twin Falls at 13–4.
Legion B Championship: The Cowboys beat Minico Storm 8–4 to win the district tourney. Kimberly beat Idaho Falls 10–9 for third. All three advance to state in Kuna, July 17–20.
Kimberly Good Neighbor Days: Closed with a 9-hole golf scramble. Hartley Tree Care took first, Rocky Mountain Supply placed second. Barbecue and community spirit were highlights.
