Twin Falls Threat Case – A 28-year-old Twin Falls man, Nathanael West, has been sentenced to 8 years in federal prison for sending detailed threats to kidnap, torture, and kill Assistant U.S. Attorney David Robins and Chief U.S. District Judge David Nye. West was sentenced by Nye in 2022 for similar crimes.
Winter Forecast – The Farmers’ Almanac predicts a “wild snowy winter” for southern Idaho in 2025–26 with dramatic swings of “Chill, Snow, Repeat,” bitter cold snaps in mid-January and mid-February, and impressive mountain snowfall.
Child Exploitation Case – 56-year-old Daniel Dekruyf of Buhl has been sentenced to 4–18 years in prison for possessing hundreds of images of child sex abuse material found during a 2024 search.
Red Flag Warning – From noon to 10 p.m. today, gusty winds, low humidity, and isolated thunderstorms could cause rapid fire spread in parts of southern Idaho.
