COURTS & LEGAL ISSUES
The Idaho Supreme Court heard arguments Friday over claims that state officials drafted biased, misleading ballot information for an abortion rights initiative. Idahoans United for Women and Families says the wording confuses voters. State agencies defend the descriptions, saying they comply with the law. A decision is expected later.
FIRE & PUBLIC SAFETY
The Jerome Rural Fire District quickly extinguished a fire east of Jerome Saturday morning after illegal mattress burning got out of control. Two sheds filled with chainsaws and generators caught fire, sending flames 10 feet high and smoke visible from Twin Falls. Firefighters had the blaze under control in less than 10 minutes.
CRIME
A Mountain Home man was arrested Friday following a nearly three-month investigation. Gregory Jones faces charges of sexual penetration with a foreign object and human trafficking. Authorities believe more victims may be unidentified.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS

CITY DEVELOPMENT
Twin Falls is moving to demolish the old 87,000-square-foot clinic and hospital on Shoshone Street. The abandoned, hazardous building contains lead and asbestos. Demolition bids will be opened May 8th.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION
Five new Idaho sites are now on the National Register of Historic Places, including the 1911 Hammett School in Elmore County, praised for its advanced rural design. Other new listings include historic sites in Boise, Riggins, Kendrick, and near Weiser.
