Threats Against Kimberly School District
Kimberly police have arrested an individual accused of making threats against the Kimberly School District. The arrest occurred on Sunday, and authorities announced there will be increased security measures at district schools.
Property Tax Payment Deadline
Homeowners must pay their property taxes this month. The deadline is December 20th, and payments can be made in full or in two installments. The second installment will be due on June 20th. Late payments will incur charges and interest.
Festival of Lights Parade in Twin Falls
This Friday, Twin Falls will host the annual Festival of Lights parade as a holiday celebration. The parade will proceed through downtown Twin Falls, beginning at 6:00 PM on Main Street. Road closures will start at 3:00 PM, and parking will be prohibited on Main Street between Castleford and Jerome streets.
Idaho Supreme Court Decision on Death Row Inmate
The Idaho Supreme Court has ruled that a second attempt to execute death row inmate Thomas Creech would not violate the Eighth Amendment’s protection against cruel and unusual punishment. The decision upholds an earlier district court ruling. Creech, 74, survived a failed execution attempt in February due to issues with vein access. A new death warrant has not yet been issued, as a federal stay remains in effect.
Shooting at Twin Falls Motel
A Kimberly man, 22-year-old Talon Herrera, is in custody following a shooting at the Old Towne Lodge in Twin Falls on Wednesday night. The incident occurred just after 9:00 PM, leaving the victim with a gunshot wound to the stomach. Herrera has been charged with aggravated battery and is being held on a $1 million bond.
Car Crash Lands on Nampa Home
One person is dead, and two others are injured following a car crash in Nampa where the vehicle became airborne and landed on a house. The incident occurred yesterday morning on East Amity Avenue. Three adults were inside the vehicle. The driver and a rear passenger sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital, while the front passenger succumbed to their injuries. Fortunately, no one was inside the home during the crash.

Boise State Broncos Football
The Boise State Broncos football team has cracked the top 10 in the AP Top 25 rankings for the first time since 2011. The Broncos are ranked No. 8, ahead of 9-3 Alabama and behind 11-1 Indiana. Boise State is the highest-ranked Group of Five team and will face No. 19 UNLV this weekend. The Broncos secured their 10th straight win by defeating Oregon State, 34-18, last Friday at Albertsons Stadium.
Idaho State Bengals Basketball
The Idaho State Bengals men’s basketball team claimed a 52-50 victory over Rhode Island in the Cancun Challenge. The Bengals return to play at home against Denver University this Wednesday at 7:00 PM as part of the Big Sky–Summit League Challenge. They will then visit the University of Missouri–Kansas City on December 7th at 1:00 PM.
Boise State Women’s Basketball
The Boise State women’s basketball team finished fourth in the Gulf Coast Showcase after a 70-64 loss to Butler. The Broncos will host two home games this weekend at ExtraMile Arena, playing Utah Tech on Friday at 1:00 PM and San Diego on Sunday at 2:00 PM.
Idaho Vandals Playoffs
The Idaho Vandals have advanced to the second round of the playoffs and will face Lehigh University. Lehigh defeated Richmond 20-16 in the first round with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.
College of Southern Idaho Basketball
The 21st-ranked College of Southern Idaho men’s basketball team defeated Lane Community College 88-78 in the Wright Physical Therapy Shootout. The Golden Eagles, now 9-2, will play their next game on the road and will not return home until December 30th.
The fifth-ranked College of Southern Idaho women’s basketball team beat Columbia State 91-59 in their Shootout game. The Golden Eagles, now 7-1, will play their remaining preseason games on the road in December.
