A semi-truck driver was seriously injured after he lost control and ended up crashing through a guardrail on an overpass and landing in the median of I-84 near Declo. Police say it happened around 11:30 yesterday morning when a cars driver failed to yield to the semi when pulling out from an offramp at exit 216. He pulled into the path of the semi who swerved to miss the car.
Prosecutors intend to seek the death penalty if an Idaho white supremacist gang member is convicted of killing a man while he was on the run after shooting officers in a plot to help a fellow gang member escape from prison. Nez Perce County Prosecutor Justin Coleman said the death penalty would be sought if Nicholas Umphenour is convicted of a murder charge in the March death of 83-year-old James Mauney of Julietta Idaho.
Idaho farmers have reached the final water agreement that Governor Brad Little said would protect Idaho agriculture, conserve and place safeguards. The governor issued a statement yesterday announcing the agreement.
A hearing was held on Thursday morning to determine if Lori Vallow, the so-called “Doomsday Mom,” is mentally fit to stand trial in her Arizona case. Vallow did not appear in court on Nov. 14, having refused transport. According to prosecutors, Vallow’s new defense team advised her to not cooperate with the two court-appointed experts.

The City of Twin Falls has installed new signs for semi-trucks traveling West on Pole Line Rd. Semi-trucks will no longer be allowed to turn right onto Bridgeview Blvd. It was determined large trucks do not have enough room to turn safely and navigate, there has been repeated damage to property.

As the state football playoffs continue Kimberly’s season came to an end last night in Pocatello as the Bulldogs were shut out by No. 1 Sugar-Salem 27-0. The same thing happened for Hagerman in the 2A semifinals, the Pirates suffered a 50-22 loss to Butte County, ending their season at the minidome.
Today Dietrich will play Tri-Valley in the Pocatello Mini-dome. Tomorrow, Carey and Garden Valley will play. Its Minico and skyline and Firth and Declo on the schedule as well.
In women’s college basketball, Tatum Thompson scored a game-high 19 points while Natalie Pasco and Dani Bayes added 12 and 10 respectively to lead Boise State past UC Riverside, 72-57, last night in Extra Mile Arena. The Broncos are back in action for the final game of their four-game homestand on Monday, Nov. 18. The game will tip off at noon.
The Idaho men’s basketball team heads out on the road to face its third test of the season, taking on BYU tomorrow inside the Marriott Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at noon.
In college football, Idaho has won three straight games and looks to continue to build momentum to the playoffs with a game against Weber State in the Kibbie Dome. Weber State has lost four straight, but has a road win over Montana under its belt and is looking to get back on track against the Vandals. It is senior day for the Vandals.
The Idaho State Bengals men’s basketball team will be back on the road for the second time this season, this time for a three-game California road trip. The Bengals first stop will be in San Diego, CA, where they will play the University of San Diego tomorrow. Next up will be Cal State Fullerton on Monday and the Bengals will wrap it all up with a big one at UCLA on Wednesday. This will be Idaho State’s first-ever meeting against San Diego, however the Bengals are 1-1 All-Time vs. CSUF, and 1-3 All-Time vs. UCLA. Idaho State’s lone win vs. UCLA coming in the 1976 NCAA Tournament, where ISU advanced from the Sweet Sixteen to the Elite Eight at a 76-75 victory.
A dozen plaintiffs including two Boise State University volleyball players are taking an ongoing transgender athletics dispute to a federal court. A lawsuit was filed Wednesday against San José State University, which, according to previous court filings, has a transgender athlete on its women’s volleyball roster. The suit also targets the Mountain West Conference, saying the athletic conference hastily and quietly adopted a transgender athletics policy the same day Boise State announced it would not play a match against San José State. Boise State was the first of four Mountain West schools to forfeit matches with San José State. Boise State announced its first forfeit on Sept. 27, one day before a scheduled road match.
