🚨 RAW MILK OUTBREAK

Idaho health officials are investigating a raw milk outbreak that’s sickened nearly 60 people across the state in the past two weeks.

Most cases are linked to raw milk from two unidentified dairies in North and South Idaho.

So far, 45 people have tested positive.

🚻 NEW IDAHO BATHROOM LAW

A new Idaho bathroom law takes effect July 1, applying to most public businesses across the state.

The law bans people from using bathrooms designated for the opposite sex, with penalties ranging from a misdemeanor to a felony for repeat offenses.

🏚️ BLM PUMPHOUSE DESTROYED

Five people have been ordered to pay restitution after admitting they shot up and destroyed a pumphouse on BLM land in Payette County.

The damage knocked out critical water infrastructure used by local ranchers.

Each person was ordered to pay $5,000, totaling $25,000 for reconstruction costs.

🦗 MORMON CRICKET ROAD HAZARD

Idaho drivers are being warned about an unusual summer road hazard — Mormon crickets.

Large swarms of the insects are beginning to emerge and can make roads surprisingly slick when they gather on warm pavement.

Officials say the grasshopper-like pests can damage crops and create dangerous driving conditions, especially in southern Idaho.

AAA is reminding families heading to theme parks, concerts, and festivals this summer to plan ahead.

Safety experts recommend choosing a meeting spot, taking a daily family photo, staying hydrated, and keeping an eye on children in crowded areas.

🗳️ PRIMARY ELECTION AUDITS

Idaho election officials are auditing primary election results this week to verify accuracy before certification on June 9.

Secretary of State Phil McGrane says Gooding County’s audit matched perfectly, and he expects similar results statewide.

Turnout reached about 37 percent, with strong participation in the Magic Valley driven by several competitive legislative races.

✈️ BOISE AIRPORT GRANTS

The Boise Airport has received nearly $9 million in federal grants to help keep up with record growth.

Airport officials say passenger traffic has increased 81 percent since 2014, with more than five million travelers passing through last year.

The funding will support a future Concourse A expansion with up to 10 new gates.

🏛️ CALDWELL MAYOR CONCERNS

Public records show Caldwell Mayor Eric Phillips privately raised concerns that city employees, including Police Chief Rex Ingram, may have been involved in a complaint filed with the Idaho Attorney General’s Office.

🥎 GLENNS FERRY SOFTBALL TITLE

The Glenns Ferry Pilots are celebrating a 2A state softball championship, powered by freshman phenom Charlee Stewart.

Stewart struck out 193 batters, posted a 2.22 ERA, and earned Western Idaho Conference Player of the Year honors.

The Pilots upset top-seeded Potlatch twice on their way to the title, while head coach Cody Fisher was named Coach of the Year.

🏀 MAX RICE RETURNS TO BOISE STATE

Boise State basketball is bringing back a familiar name.

Head coach Leon Rice has added his son, Max Rice, to the Broncos’ coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Max Rice scored more than 1,200 points during his Boise State career, helped lead the Broncos to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, and spent the past two seasons playing professionally overseas before returning to Boise.

🏃 BOISE STATE TO HOST PAC-12 CROSS COUNTRY

Boise State will host the 2026 Pac-12 Cross Country Championships on October 30 at Warm Springs Golf Course in Boise.

The event marks the first Pac-12 championship hosted by the Broncos since joining the conference.

Boise State is coming off a strong 2025 season, with both the men’s and women’s teams finishing runner-up in the Mountain West, while the women placed 22nd nationally at the NCAA Championships.
