Well here goes my very first blog entry. First off thank you for reading. I really appreciate it.

Here you will find some musings that would be kind of difficult to convey on air. Somethings are just not meant to be on radio. Not that they are bad, just that they don't translate in that media.

For my first entry I would like to talk about my recent absence from the air.

I have a mother that has Muscular Dystrophy. She has had it all of her life. She is now 70 years young.  She is in the final stages of her life. It was this that drew me from the morning show recently. I tell you this not to ask for sympathy but to bring to you a recent revelation that I had.

Don't take for granted those loved ones that you have around you. It is only a matter of time before time hunts us all down and deals with us as it sees fit. I found myself asking if I had done enough in the time that I have had with my mother. I did feel a pang of regret as I asked that question. Perhaps I have not done as I should have done. Now I feel like I am scrambling to make good the time I have left.

So from my experience I hope it is possible to encourage you to maybe pick up the phone and call that loved one that you may have taken for granted. Perhaps a visit might be in order. Yes I know we are all busy. We chase the kids around. We work hard, and many hours,  but just invest a little time now, and the dividends will be great.
