JUNE 1ST – 3RD – 2018 TWIN FALLS WESTERN DAYS

The 2018 Western Days will be June 1st through the 3rd in Twin Falls with a parade, music, food, carnival and merchandise vendors plus the Beer Garden for the adults. The parade will be Saturday morning.

 

JUNE 2ND – FARMERS MARKET IN RUPERT

Farmer's Market/Craft Fair being held on Saturday, June 2nd from 7am to 3pm, on F Street just off the Square in Rupert.  A wide variety of vendors, food, and live music will be available. Plenty of parking, just off the square near the post office. 

 

JUNE 2ND – 4TH ANNUAL IDAHO ROLL CALL MEMORIAL RIDE

On Saturday, June 2nd will be the 4th Annual Idaho Roll Call Memorial Ride hosted by the Combat Vets Association, the Rupert Veterans Memorial and the City of Rupert. Riders will meet at Let’s Ride in Rupert with kickstands up at 9:30am. A program for our fallen soldiers will be held at the Idaho Roll Call Monument at 7th and Scott in Rupert beginning at 1pm.  Come early for the food.  The cost is $15 for riders, for more information contact George Maas 208-650-0104, or JR at 208-670-1728

 

JUNE 2ND – CITY OF BURLEY GRAND REOPENING OF FISHING POND AT FREEDOM PARK 

The City of Burley is pleased to announce the Grand-Re-Opening of the Fish Pond located at Freedom Park, across from River’s Edge Golf Course. It will be a wonderful event with food, entertainment, exhibits, prizes, and FUN.  

  • The event will be on Saturday June 2. Bring your fishing poles!  A “free will offering” breakfast will be served beginning at 7:00 AM.  Come and support this great event and Celebrate “Fishing Day.”  That’s Saturday June 2 at Freedom Park in Burley. 

 

JUNE 2ND – OPEN YOUR HEARTS FOR HOSPICE FUNDRAISER IN TWIN FALLS

Idaho Home Health and Hospice invites you to join them open up your “Hearts for Hospice" arts and crafts fundraiser to support the Hospice Promise Foundation. Local artist’s renderings, handmade crafts, and gift baskets will be on display along with live music.  All donations are tax deductible through their non-profit Hospice Promise Foundation.  Event will be held on Saturday June 2, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at Von Scheidt Brewing Company 157 2nd Ave West in Twin Falls. JUNE 3RD – 11TH ANNUAL QRU FUNDRAISER @ TWIN FALLS COUNTY FAIRGROUND

11th Annual Quick Response Unit Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, June 3rd all day at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds !  These heroic volunteers are first responders to emergencies and operate off funds raised throughout the year. All proceeds raised at the event will be divided equally among 9 local Magic Valley QRU’s; West End (Paul), Filer, Buhl, Hagerman, Salmon Tract (Hollister), Rupert, Rock Creek (Kimberly) Bliss, and Castleford. 

There will be local motorcycle associations, ATV Riders Association and local businesses such as WaterTech Inc., Plant Therapy, Westmark Credit Union, Kenworth Trucks, Adventure Motor Sports, Snake Harley-Davidson, Dr. M. Cole Johnson, & Lets Ride offering their support.  The days events will include such activities as a registration pancake breakfast, a motorcycle challenge run that included 300-500 registrants in previous years with stops at each of the QRU locations, live entertainment by Front Porch Flavor, raffle, evening BBQ, bounce house, photo booth and much more!!

JUNE 4TH – CREATE A BLANKET PROJECT @ JEROME PUBLIC LIBRARY

JUNE 18TH – ARCHAEOLOGY ADVENTURY DAY CAMP FOR KIDS @ CASTLE ROCKS STATE PARK

Kids can spend the day learning about the history of Castle Rocks State Park by joining Park Rangers on a fun adventure where you will hike, throw spears, and help in a real archaeological dig!

  • Monday, June 18th, 7 to 9 year olds
  • Tuesday, June 19th, 10 to 12 year olds
  • Camp will begin at 9:30 am with a hike to interesting archaeology sites in the park.
  • Then learn how to use an atlatl to throw a spear and compete for prizes!

Lunch will be provided at the pavilion while participants learn about the site they will be excavating and the types of artifacts they may find.  In the afternoon, participants will help excavate a historic homestead while learning about scientific excavation techniques and artifact identification. The registration fee is $15 per participant (lunch and gloves are provided). Each camp is limited to 10 participants. JUNE 18TH – AUGUST 10TH – BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB SUMMER PROGRAM

Sign up's for the Boys & Girls Club Summer Program in Rupert is officially OPEN! The summer program in Rupert will run from June 18th-August 10th. The program is for kiddos ages 6-18 (Your child MUST have completed kindergarten in order to be eligible to sign up for the summer program).

  • The program will run M-F from 6:45am-6:30pm, with breakfast, lunch, and snack served. The cost will be $30/week. Sign up's can be done online by visiting our website bgcmv.com, click 'Join the Club', select 'Rupert Club', and from there you can create a new registration.
  • There is an annual $20 membership fee for all Boys & Girls Club members that can be paid online.

ADULTING 101 – EVERY THURSDAY AT THE DEMARY MEMORIAL LIBRARY IN RUPERT

The Rupert DeMary Memorial Library is offering a free series of workshops to people age 15 to 90 to learn life skills. Adulting 101 will be held each week at 4 p.m. on Thursdays at the library, 417 7th St. The library is working with banks, businesses and other resources to provide the information during the classes.

FIT AND FALL PROOF CLASSES SPONSORED BY THE SOUTH CENTRAL PUBLIC HEALTH DISTRICT

The South Central Public Health District is pleased to announce that their Fit and Fall Proof Classes have resumed at Pomerelle Place Senior Living, located at 1301 Bennett in Burley.  The classes are free to attend and will be held every Thursday and Saturday from 10am to 11am. Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear and bring a water bottle.
